World of Tanks, the massively multiplayer online tank battle game, is gearing up to deploy Update 8.4, offering a collection of new tanks for players to enjoy, as well as some new visuals in many of the game's most-played maps.

For those unfamiliar with the game, World of Tanks is, at its core, exactly like Call of Duty. The only difference is that, instead of controlling a soldier in first-person, you are now controlling a tank in third-person. There's also a huge amount of tactical strategy and teamwork required to succeed. And the maps are massive. And each battlefield could be swarming with dozens of enemies and allies. You know, on second thought, World of Tanks might not have all that much in common with Call of Duty after all. Sorry for any confusion.

The main thing any WoT vet wants to hear about in these updates is the new vehicles, and 8.4 has 10 British tank destroyers to add to your arsenal. These bad boys boast thick armor and the ability to roll onto the battlefield fast and hard, pulverizing their enemies along the way. Along with the British tank destroyers, this update will also offer three light German tanks for those who wish to beef up their army with speed over strength.

A new combat tutorial is also being introduced with 8.4, making this a good time for rookies to jump in and see what all of the fuss is about. You can also expect a visual overhaul on a few of the game's maps, including Ensk, Live Oaks, Steppes and Fisherman's Bay.

Look for Update 8.4 starting today on European servers. Here in the states and Southeast Asia, the new content will be ready to roll tomorrow, March 7. If you're gaming in Korea, you can get in on the action come March 20.
