The official website for World of Warcraft: Cataclysm received an update today. They've added a page describing the Abyssal Maw, which appears to be a new raid dungeon.
The Abyssal Maw, a vast area under the sea, is the domain of the water elementals. Neptulon the Tidehunter rules over them and is said to possess an artifact that allows the wielder to control the seas. The artifact has such awesome power that "perhaps no one, not even members of the Horde or the Alliance, should possess" it.
In other words, you'll kill Neptulon week after week until everyone in the guild wields their own ocean-controlling artifact. Or maybe you'll recover the artifact and, instead of keeping it, give it to some wizard who will destroy it. Then he'll reward you with another really cool item. Either way, expect Neptulon to get killed a lot.
The first screenshots are just below. Cataclysm's release is expected in 2010. The first trailer for the expansion can be found here.
