Subscribe To XCOM: Enemy Unknown Demo Invading Steam Now Updates
I’m not sure if you’ve heard about this game XCOM: Enemy Unknown, but the word on the street is that it’s kind of a big deal. And you can find out how big of a deal it really is for yourself by checking out the PC demo, officially available on Steam right this very second.

The original XCOM has a pretty dedicated fan-base. Enemy Unknown takes player back to that same universe, this time wrapped in a modern isometric strategy shooter made to be enjoyed with a handful of friends. You don’t have to play with friends, of course, but man does that sound lonely.

According to a 2K Games press release, the demo will give players a crack at two levels from the single player tutorial. Once you’ve learned the basics, you’ll be ready to roll one the game goes live on Oct. 9. At that point, you’ll be able to keep flying solo (loner) or jump into some sweet, sweet multiplayer action.

2K promises a console demo is coming down the pipeline, but no date for that trial has yet been revealed.

If you’re already sold on the game, you can pre-purchase it for $49.99 from participating digital retailers like Steam. Doing so will also net you the Elite Soldier Pack, which boasts a classic XCom soldier, deco packs and complete color customization. Neat!
