SSX, the next-gen reboot of EA's snowboarding series, will be arriving later than expected. The team at EA Canada has decided that they need a couple more weeks in order to apply "the final bit of polish we think it deserves."

"This means that we won’t be shipping the game to you until Feb. 28 in North America and Mar. 2 in the rest of the world," creative director Todd Batty said in an open letter to SSX fans. "We hope that given how long you have waited for SSX to come back, you won’t mind waiting just a little bit longer.

"Over the course of more than 10 years of making games I have not worked on a single project where our team did not wish, coming down the home stretch, that we could have just a bit more time. Time to do all the little things that may not be noticeable during the first hour or two playing the game, but are appreciated over the course of days, weeks, months and beyond."

Perhaps to balance out this bit of bad news, EA released a montage of gameplay footage from SSX.
