Ryan Reynolds Has Perfect Response After New Feud Moment With Hugh Jackman Involved Free Guy’s Director
There are very few things that are absolutely certain in this world. One is that bread will always taste good, and another is that people on the internet will always have disagreements. And of course, it’s more than likely that Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman will continue their “feud” for as long as they can. The most recent jab came from Jackman, who took to social media to flaunt his recent meet-up with Reynolds’ Free Guy director, Shawn Levy. Of course, the Deadpool star has now responded in the perfect way.
Ryan Reynolds is pretty fast when it comes to dishing out a joke, so it should come as no surprise that he was able to form a reply so quickly. The actor took to his Instagram stories to clap back at Hugh Jackman’s post, and the result serves as a bit of vindication for Reynolds. Check it out in the photo below:
OK, so Ryan Reynolds didn’t actually get to join Hugh Jackman and Shawn Levy’s get-together, but photoshopping his Free Guy character, Guy, into the photo is the next best thing. Plus, with the tags Reynolds added, the post also serves as a nice way to promote his long-awaited film. So I’d give Reynolds’ counter to Jackman a thumbs up.
The feud between Ryan Reynolds and Hugh Jackman is pretty much Hollywood legend at this point. For the last several years, the two actors have had no problem ripping each other to shreds on numerous occasions. And from the way we understand it, it was Reynolds’ ex-wife, Scarlett Johansson, who helped kick off the famous faux feud between the two X-Men alums.
Over the years, fans have seen the two throw out some pretty great insults, especially jabs that are aimed at their bodies of work. Ryan Reynolds, for instance, paid tribute to Logan’s anniversary with a painfully hilarious post. On the other hand, Hugh Jackman has been lampooning Free Guy way ahead of its release. And sometimes the jokes can get hilariously (and respectfully) personal.
But don’t make the mistake of thinking there isn’t any love between the two frenemies. Every once in a while they do put a halt to their feud for different reasons. This typically happens in the name of a charitable cause or just to hang out. And sometimes one might even reach out to give props to the other.
At the end of the day, game recognizes game, and both actors have plenty to be proud of. Ahead of its release, Ryan Reynolds’ Free Guy has received strong reactions from critics and could be headed for a solid opening. And should that be the case, there’s a firm chance Hugh Jackman will send his congratulations, in a back-handed sort of way, of course.
