The Cord Cutter Podcast #24: The Punisher

Welcome to the 24th edition of The Cord Cutter Podcast! After a few months of waiting, we finally have another binge-worthy Marvel show to sink our teeth and eager eyeballs into on Netflix. The Punisher hit the streaming service almost a week ago, and we have lots to say about it! While there have been three big screen versions of The Punisher over the past 30 years, it seems like the marriage of Marvel and Netflix is what it really took to give the bloody-minded character his due. Tragedy-prone Frank Castle and his very lethal skills were brought to streaming audiences last year when the character was introduced in Season 2 of Daredevil. The reaction from fans was so positive and immediate that Netflix and Marvel jumped right into the challenge of giving the killer anti-hero a series of his very own, and now we can finally discuss it!

Frank Castle and his (not so) alter-ego The Punisher have a lot to work through in his first series, and this week Mick, Adrienne and their guest, CinemaBlend Staff Reporter Conner Schwerdtfeger, will go over the many facets of the show that need to be talked about. How do The Punisher's villains stack up to other Marvel Netflix baddies? Was the Season 1 longer than it needed to be? Who are the best new characters introduced in The Punisher? What was up with those graphic sex scenes? Which of the crazy, violent fight scenes was the best and the hardest to watch? What do we want a potential Season 2 to bring us? Our hosts will talk through all that and more in this edition. Ready to dive in? Great! Read on to get the lowdown on this week's podcast and then listen for yourself above!
