What Selena Gomez's Mom Loves About Her Friendship With Taylor Swift
While Taylor Swift is sometimes known for her bad blood, the pop musician's friendship with Selena Gomez remains as strong as ever. At least, that's what Mandy Teefey, Selena Gomez's mother, believes. During a recent Facebook Live chat session, where Teefey promoted the second season of Netflix's controversial drama series 13 Reasons Why (she serves as an executive producer alongside Selena Gomez), Mandy discussed her daughter's enduring friendship with Taylor Swift. That's when mom admits Swift and Gomez have the type of friendship where the singers feel comfortable saying pretty much anything to each other. Here's what Mandy Teefey had to say Gomez's close-knit relationship with the "Shake It Off" pop star.
Considering the business Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift are in, it's comforting to have a friend you can stay close, personal, and intimate with, despite the always flashing spotlights. Not to mention the importance of having a friend that understands the troubles and hassles that come from such intense media exposure. As Entertainment Tonight reports, Mandy Teefey praises Taylor Swift for her authenticity -- something Selena Gomez hasn't always found in Hollywood.
That certainly does feel refreshing. Fans will be glad Taylor Swift is still keeping long-standing relationships as her fame continues to skyrocket. During Swift's recent concert at the Rose Bowl on Saturday, Swift and Selena Gomez proved their friendship to adoring fans when Gomez appeared on stage. It was during their performance together that Taylor Swift called Selena Gomez her "best friends." The singers performed "Hand to Myself," and while on stage for this weekend concert appearance, Selena Gomez had some loving words to say about Taylor Swift. Here's what Gomez said to the crowd.
That's really lovely to hear. Indeed, Taylor Swift seems to be focusing on love, not hate, these days. Recently, before she began her ongoing stadium tour, Swift received a literal olive branch from Katy Perry, with whom she has been feuding with for a number of years. We're glad Swift is reconnecting -- and staying connected -- with her high-profile friends at the moment. Meanwhile, the second season of 13 Reasons Why is now streaming on Netflix.
