Jon and Kate Gosselin were once all but household names for their hit TLC show, Jon & Kate Plus 8. The show followed the parents as they raised their eight children, comprised of one set of twins and then one set of sextuplets. The family dynamic showcased in the series from 2007-2009 fell apart when Jon and Kate divorced after Jon allegedly cheated on his wife, and the show became Kate Plus 8. The aftermath of the divorce was ugly, and now Kate Gosselin has spoken out against her ex after a situation with their son Collin.

Here's what's happening. Collin Gosselin, one of the sextuplets who is now 16, is allegedly at the center of an incident from earlier in September. According to a document from the County of Berks Child & Youth Services in Pennsylvania (via People), the allegation involves "causing bodily injury to a child through recent act/failure to act: hitting/punching," although Jon Gosselin is not explicitly named as the accused perpetrator. Kate Gosselin responded to the situation, saying:

You do not punch and kick your children. You do not kick a child. I don’t want to hear any excuses from anyone, not from his father, not from local law enforcement, not from court personnel whose job is supposedly to ensure the best interests of my children. There is a child abuse law, PA 23, section 8i states that doing any of the following, regardless of whether it causes injury, is child abuse, and first on that list is kicking. Period. I don’t want my children around him. Enough is enough.

Kate Gosselin went on to say that the situation makes her sick to her stomach, and she plans to "keep shouting about it" with the goal of "the authorities and the courts" finally doing "the right thing." She wants her ex-husband to be charged with a crime, and for Collin Gosselin not to be returned to Jon Gosselin's home.

The alleged abuse became public following an Instagram post that has since been deleted, on which Collin Gosselin accused his father of beating him up, punching him in the face, and continuing to kick him "in the ribs" after he was on the floor. Sources claim that Collin called the authorities after the alleged attack, which is said to have started after Collin threw a "heavy bottle of liquid" at Jon Gosselin's car and escalated into an attack on Collin.

Representatives for Jon Gosselin have not commented on the situation at the time of writing, and Berks County District Attorney John Adams told People that "no charges or citations" have been filed against Jon. Collin Gosselin was named as one of the kids that Jon Gosselin no longer saw back in 2016, and Jon stated later than year that he didn't even know where Collin was.

Jon Gosselin also accused Kate Gosselin of "segregating" him from Collin in 2016. The 16-year-old reportedly moved in with his father, along with fellow sextuplet Hannah, after he spent two years away from his family as part of a program for kids with special needs. The other six kids live with Kate Gosselin. Kate returned to TLC with a new show, Kate Plus Date, in the summer of 2019.
