In order to draw you into Champions Online, Cryptic Studios is enlisting the help of your friends. A new referral program earns exclusive bonuses for new players and the subscribers who reel them in.

As soon as the new player creates a Champions account, he and his recruiter will earn a Sapphire in-game action figure. The two players will be able to teleport to each other instantly through their friends' list. Also, they'll receive a 5% bonus to their experience, resources, and damage output while adventuring together.

If the recruit ultimately purchases Champions, the other player will get a Spatial Manipulator that allows him to warp to the closest Powerhouse. If a recruiter manages to snare a second player, they'll get a Farlong Device that warps them to the nearest Transport location. A successful recruitment will also net you an extra costume slot and 400 Cryptic Points, the latter of which can be used in the Champions Store on premium extras. For every two recruitments, Cryptic will also throw in 30 days of free game time.

The costume slots, Cryptic Points, and free game time will only be doled out if the recruits actually purchase subscriptions after their trial month is up. Other restrictions are covered in detail at the official FAQ.
