Crytek is giving you yet another chance to try out Crysis's standalone multiplayer component for free. A new trial period for Crysis Wars begins next week.

The free play period, for both online and LAN matches, starts on Saturday, December 19th and runs until Tuesday, December 29. To be eligible, you'll need to register at http://www.mycrysis.com. You'll then be able to download the files necessary to run the game when the trial begins.

One word of caution: the system requirements are a bit steep. Before you run off to download anything, check out the minimum specs below.

• CPU: Intel Core 2 Duo E7300 2.66GHz 3M Processor
• RAM:1GB (1.5GB on Windows Vista)
• Graphics Card: NVidia GeForce 6800GT, ATI Radeon 9800Pro (Radeon X800 for Vista) or better

• Storage: 10GB
• Sound Card: DirectX 9.0c Compatible
• OS: Microsoft Windows XP with Service Pack 2 or Microsoft Vista
