We all thought HellGate: London was the last we would see of the HellGate series, but apparently hell hath no fury like a video game sequel. HanbitSoft is taking over where Flagship Studios went defunct and will head up the new MMO as hell is opened up on Tokyo, Japan.

Believe it or not, HellGate: London still survives over in Korea thanks to HanbitSoft and their belief is that it was a good enough game to keep going. Nevertheless, they also believe that HG: London deserved a sequel, so it's getting one, this time the action takes place in Japan. Now with HellGate: Tokyo on the way and due out in 2010, it certainly begs the question of whether or not this will be an improved version of a good idea gone wrong, or just a rehash of a good idea gone wrong.
