Downloading new content for a game? Awesome. Finding out the details and release date for downloadable content? Good. An announcement that downloadable content will soon be announced? Meh. The third one is what we've got for Left 4 Dead, though.
On a Kotaku podcast, Valve writer Chet Faliszek revealed that DLC for both the Xbox 360 and PC versions of the zombie co-op shooter would be announced "really shortly." He also mentioned that it would be "Versus maps and new stuff."
He mentioned this in response to being asked whether Versus mode support would be extended to the other two co-op campaigns. It wouldn't be surprising if the first bit of new content was the addition of Versus mode to "Dead Air" and "Death Toll." This unnamed "new stuff", though? Who knows. Hopefully it's another campaign. Judging by Valve's past games, downloadable content is expected but it's really a matter of when we'll actually get our hands on it.
