Penny Arcade Expo 2009 took place this past weekend and when tens of thousands of folks hang out in one convention center, someone's bound to catch a few germs. Today PAX officials announced that they had their first reported case of swine flu.
"Just heard of our first test-confirmed swine flu case at the show. PLEASE if you feel symptoms (fever, etc) go to the doctor," reads the latest update on the PAX Twitter.
This could just be an isolated case so don't start burning your PAX t-shirts and memorabilia just yet - I'm not sure that's a good way to prevent swine flu, anyway. They probably had 50,000+ folks this year and one out of 50,000 ain't so bad. Heck, Blend Games' staff has had just as many swine flu cases and there's only a handful of us.
If you're sick, though, get your ass to the doctor. Even if it doesn't turn out to be the dreaded pig flu, the trip to the doc will extend your long weekend by another day.
Update: Anyone with a confirmed case is encouraged to email rkhoo@penny-arcade.com with their flight info.
