Teeny Tiny Professor X Cast For X-Men: First Class![]()
After X-Men: The Last Stand and X-Men Origins: Wolverine, it’s easy to write the franchise off as a dead series and not recognize that something good is in the works. X-Men: First Class is a real origin story, telling the story of the first set of young mutants to enter Xavier's School for Gifted Youngsters and become the first X-Men. Why is that good news? Well, because this film puts Bryan Singer (director of X-Men and X2) in the producers chair and gives the helm to Matthew Vaughn.
The story will even go as far back as to introduce us to a very young Professor X, younger even than James McAvoy who has been cast in a Young Charles Xavier role already. Bleeding Cool has it that Lawrence Belcher will appear in the film as Charles, presumably in the same fashion that we’re introduced to a young Jewish boy in captivity at the start of X-Men, who turns out to be Eric Lensherr, better known as Magneto. The film is officially underway in London as of yesterday so hopefully Singer, Vaughn, and their mostly stellar cast will be able to quickly start giving us some photos that will keep as us interested as we are now. X-Men as a series deserves this one more shot and I sincerely hope this revives the franchise. And, for the love of God, cancel Wolverine 2. We don’t want it. |
