What Jason Momoa Thinks About His Wedding Details Being Revealed

Jason Momoa Road to Paloma

News recently surfaced Justice League actor Jason Momoa and former The Cosby Show actress Lisa Bonet married after more than a dozen years together. While the news was happy, the fact somebody spilled the beans royally angered Momoa. According to the 38-year-old actor, he and Bonet meant for their wedding ceremony to be private in every sense of the word, so they could announce the marriage on their terms. Momoa proudly confirmed the news in a recent interview, but regarding the privacy aspect he and Bonet had wanted, Momoa added,

I thought it would have stayed that way, but some asshole leaked it and I will find you.

Unfortunately for the newly married couple, the story made it to the press before the two stars had a chance to share their side. It put Jason Momoa in a tight spot, as he is doing a lot of interviews at the moment for Justice League, where he played protagonist Aquaman. The topic was sure to come up during press interviews, so Momoa had to choose one of three options: confirm it, deny it, or say nothing at all about it. It would make zero sense to deny it, but the "no comment" route seems equally goofy when you consider how Lisa Bonet and Momoa have been together for such a long time, and how he has called her his wife in the past. Take this Instagram post for example.

During the Justice League press event in which Jason Momoa described his frustration, he indicated to ET that part of his and Lisa Bonet's decision to keep their ceremony private came from the fact they already felt like husband and wife. Momoa even reiterated a position he previously took on the matter; he and Lisa Bonet already were "married," for all intents and purposes, for 12 years before the October event. Momoa noted he and Bonet wanted the gathering to be intimate and personal, as an exclusive way for their families and friends to gather and celebrate the couple's love.

Hilariously, Jason Momoa's Justice League co-star, Ezra Miller, who plays The Flash, made sure the reporters at the press interview knew he was not the culprit behind the leak. Miller chimed in while Momoa answered questions, and he said,

I swear it wasn't me.

It is worth noting Jason Momoa could likely be dead serious about the "I will find you" bit. A few years ago, Momoa told Katie Couric he had pursued Lisa Bonet for years after falling in love with her during her time on The Cosby Show and A Different World. In fact, Momoa confessed the details to Bonet after the two of them had two kids together, 10-year-old Lola and 8-year-old Nakoa-Wolf. He told Bonet he had "kind of stalked" her because he was "going to find" her. If that ambition of Momoa's worked out, it probably will not be so hard for him to get what he wants in this case.

Regardless, the news of the wedding is out there, and now we know. It is a bummer to hear Jason Momoa and Lisa Bonet feel like someone went against their wishes and stole their chance to share the news. A person's wedding day should be one the happiest days ever, and the couple themselves should be the ones the chance to talk about it, share pictures from it, and so on.
