The month of March is here, bringing with it spring, some heavy-hitters on the 2026 movie schedule, the 98th Academy Awards, and so many new movies streaming. While there’ll be tons of fun to have at the movie theater this month (I cannot wait to see Ryan Gosling’s Project Hail Mary), there are also some massive recent releases coming to a streaming service near you.

I’ll put it this way: by the end of the month, you’ll be able to watch all the Best Picture nominees from the comfort of your home and with the help of a select few popular streaming platforms. That said, if you want to check out some of 2025’s best movies, new arrivals, and everything in between, come along as I break it all down. From The Secret Agent to Sentimental Value to some overlooked gems, there’s a lot to be excited about this month.

Though a lot of us use our Apple TV subscription to watch the streamer’s great shows like Ted Lasso, Shrinking, and For All Mankind (this one returns in March), there’s also a nice library of original movies. If you, for some reason, haven’t watched Brad Pitt’s F1 by now, you can still check it out ahead of the Oscars, where it’s nominated for a number of big awards, including Best Picture.

The past few months have been great for folks with a Disney+ subscription, as the platform has dropped some serious bangers. Though February was a dry month for the streamer (still no word on when Avatar: Fire and Ash will debut), March is going to be busier on the platform. There’s the new Werner Herzog documentary, Ghost Elephants, debuting on March 8th, the latest season of Daredevil: Born Again, and a few Oscar contenders if you bundle with Hulu.

Don’t want to wait for your favorite movies (or maybe those you missed on the big screen) to hit one of your go-to streaming services? You’ll have to pay a premium for the convenience of watching a movie early (some of these titles cost $25 on Amazon), but sometimes it’s totally worth it. If you’ve been wanting to catch 28 Years Later: The Bone Temple, Marty Supreme, and Is This Thing On?, now is your golden opportunity.

With all the major movies in theaters right now, it will only be a matter of time before we see some of the year’s biggest movies on one of these streaming services.

Philip Sledge
Content Writer

Philip grew up in Louisiana (not New Orleans) before moving to St. Louis after graduating from Louisiana State University-Shreveport. When he's not writing about movies or television, Philip can be found being chased by his three kids, telling his dogs to stop barking at the mailman, or chatting about professional wrestling to his wife. Writing gigs with school newspapers, multiple daily newspapers, and other varied job experiences led him to this point where he actually gets to write about movies, shows, wrestling, and documentaries (which is a huge win in his eyes). If the stars properly align, he will talk about For Love Of The Game being the best baseball movie of all time.
