Wondering where MacGyver is? If you are expecting to watch Season 4 this fall, there is some bad news. The new season will not be airing during fall 2019. Why? It has to do with some scheduling re-shuffling, and MacGyver got caught in the crosshairs. Here is what you need to know.

For its first three seasons, MacGyver always premiered in September and aired on Fridays. Unfortunately for fans, that is not going to be the case this year. CBS is holding Season 4 for the 2019-2020 midseason. Long-running crime drama, Hawaii Five-0, will take MacGyver’s previously held timeslot.

CBS has also relocated the Magnum P.I. reboot. Yes, the Jay Hernandez-led drama is on the move! Magnum P.I. will go from airing on Mondays to Fridays when its second season airs this fall. In the new lineup, the reboot of Magnum P.I. will air the same night as the original series’ star, Tom Selleck’s, current show.

All of this means that CBS’ Friday night lineup will now consist of Hawaii Five-0 (8 p.m. ET), Magnum P.I. (9 p.m. ET), and Blue Bloods (10 p.m. ET). They will all premiere this coming Friday (September 27).

So, if you tune into CBS this Friday, you should learn the fallout from Hawaii Five-0’s speculation-inducing cliffhanger. If you stick around later, you can also catch the 200th episode of Blue Bloods, and see Tom Selleck’s Frank in a different light. What you will not see is the start of MacGyver Season 4.

MacGyver has not been the only show affected by CBS’ scheduling changes. Criminal Minds is also being held until the midseason. Fans of that crime drama will have to wait a while longer to see its final season unfold. As for MacGyver, fans can count on the wait being worthwhile!

After some questions, CBS renewed MacGyver along with some other shows. All that is left to do now is wait, and see how Season 4 gives one character a lot more to do. That is not the only thing for fans to get hyped about! A Lost vet / 100 fan-favorite is heading to the show!

Henry Ian Cusack, who played Desmond on Lost and Marcus on The 100, will star in MacGyver Season 4. The actor will join the cast in a considerably intriguing role next season. That is not the only excitement the show has in store. As MacGyver ended its previous season, it introduced a “bad MacGyver.”

When will the show return? An exact air date has not been announced yet. As of the initial announcement of MacGyver’s midseason return, CBS did not confirm if Season 4 will air on Friday nights. There is still a lot left to figure out, including if that Hawaii Five-0 / Magnum P.I. / MacGyver crossover is going to happen.

MacGyver Season 4 will debut after this fall’s premieres, during the 2019-2020 midseason on CBS.
