christmas in rome hallmark channel 2019 sam page lacey chabert

Now is not a relaxing time for most of us. Not only are we all trying not to get sick, but previously held plans are up in the air, vacations have been cancelled, we're largely stuck at home and seeing our nearest and dearest in person has become a tricky affair. A lot of us are looking, pretty exclusively, for things that not only keep us entertained as we hunker down in our homes, but TV shows, movies and other things that will help keep our spirits light and peaceful so that we don't descend into madness. Well, Hallmark Channel has just the thing for you: Christmas movies!

That's right, folks! All you Hallmark Christmas movie stans who are currently trying to live your best life while never leaving home can now rely on a lovely weekend marathon filled with Christmas joy. Beginning this Friday, March 20, at 12 p.m. EST and running through Sunday, March 22, at 6 p.m. EST, Hallmark will run 27 of their recent Christmas movies back to back for our viewing pleasure.

The only break in this marathon, which is being billed as the "We Need a Little Christmas Movie Marathon," will be the previously scheduled debut of In the Key of Love, which airs Saturday at 9 p.m. EST, as well as preview specials for the "Spring Fling" and Hallmark Movies & Mysteries lineups. YAY! Just what we needed, right?

The Christmas marathon (you can get the schedule right here) will begin with the 2015 Candace Cameron Bure and Paul Greene starrer A Christmas Detour, and will include some truly wonderful films to help lighten your emotional load this weekend. Some of my personal favorites from the list are Holiday Date, Crown for Christmas, The Nine Lives of Christmas, Write Before Christmas and Christmas in Rome, which wraps things up on Sunday evening.

As you can probably imagine, the "We Need a Little Christmas Movie Marathon" will include plenty of films from your favorite Hallmark original movie stars, beyond the Fuller House star mentioned above. Other films will star actors such as Lacey Chabert, Danica McKellar, Chad Michael Murray, Autumn Reeser, Luke Macfarlane, Brendan Penny, Jen Lilley, Alicia Witt and many, many more.

While much of the entertainment industry has gone into shutdown recently (just like many other businesses and regular ol' people), those behind big companies like Hallmark realize that people need a little levity right now, so they're trying to help out. Talk show hosts like Jimmy Fallon and Stephen Colbert have been doing monologues from home, Conan O'Brien will be starting his show back up at the end of the month and filming remotely with celebrity interviews recorded via video chat and many movies are coming to VOD early, because no one can go to the theater now, even if they really were willing to do so.

Luckily, for those of us who enjoy the Hallmark Christmas movies, a lot of our viewing options for this weekend are now taken care of. Remember, the Hallmark Christmas movie marathon begins tomorrow at 12 p.m. EST and runs through this Sunday at 6 p.m. EST.
