Corey and Evelin 90 Day Fiance: Self Quarantined

Warning! The following contains spoilers for the 90 Day Fiancé: Self-Quarantined episode "Stronger Together." Read at your own risk!

90 Day Fiancé is no stranger to dysfunctional couples, but boy howdy do Corey Rathgeber and Evelin Villegas take the cake. The stars of The Other Way and What Now? spinoffs got a check-in during 90 Day Fiancé: Self-Quarantined, and as viewers may have expected, their relationship is about as up and down as a roller coaster.

The latest drama came from Corey's return to Ecuador so that he could be quarantined and reconcile with Evelin following her request for a break prior to their wedding. It appeared there was a communication breakdown between the two, and that when Evelin said "break" she actually meant "space." Corey took "a break" in the Ross Gellar definition of the word, and apparently got cozy with another woman in Peru before moving back with Evelin in Ecuador.

The truth of what all happened really came to a head when Evelin found Corey's "shampoo" in his things. The shampoo, unbeknownst to Corey, was actually feminine wash and Corey was forced to explain to Evelin that he and this woman got closer than she may have known initially. Corey explained his situation as being "in the doghouse," and said there was some question whether or not their wedding would actually happen.

Literally the very next scene with the couple, Evelin is crying because a man from their village has washed up on the beach outside their home possibly dead from COVID-19. Evelin is no longer worried about whatever happened with Corey, and is talking about how thankful she is that they're here together experiencing life. Corey seems to think everything is back on track, and it's almost like all the business with "shampoo for women's privates," as Evelin put it, was all but forgotten.

Personally, I think it's a perfect show of Corey and Evelin's relationship on the whole, and that there's really no telling where they are from week to week. There have been reports the couple has already married and is just playing up drama for the camera, though I'm thinking that the ups and downs they experience may be more the norm than actual signs of trouble regardless of their relationship status. Even now Evelin has wiped all pictures of Corey from her Instagram, and has been sharing a lot of pictures of her on the beach with him nowhere to be found.

Meanwhile Corey's Instagram feed makes it look like things are all good between the two, so it's just really exhausting to try and keep up with. At first it seemed like the two were building drama via social media and merely trolling fans to keep them guessing, but the more I see the more I'm convinced even they're not always sure where they stand. Typically, this can make for good television in the 90 Day Fiancé world, though even the most controversial couples can be tiring if there's just too much drama.
