Foxx’s early work includes being in the In Living Color cast. He then had his own series called The Jamie Foxx Show.

Pops Dixon is Brian’s father and the grandfather of Sasha. David Alan Grier is a comedy legend and best known for his work on the sketch comedy show In Living Color. He also played a sitcom dad in The Carmichael Show. Grier’s TV credits include The Resident, The Cool Kids, A Series Of Unfortunate Events, My Wife and Kids, Life with Bonnie, Damon, Martin, and Happily Ever After: Fairy Tale for Every Child.

Kyla-Drew is only sixteen years old, but she’s been acting since she was eight. She’s already accumulated some impressive acting credits.
Kyle-Drew appeared in episodes of the CW's 90210 reboot, How I Met Your Mother, Jessie, Castle, NCIS, Grey’s Anatomy, Raven’s Home, and The Good Doctor. She also had a recurring role on the gone-too-soon Netflix series No Good Nick. She also appeared as a series regular in the Nickelodeon show Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn. And she had a role in the Jake Gyllenhaal and Hugh Jackman film Prisoners.
Porscha Coleman (Chelsea Dixon)
Porscha Coleman plays Chelsea Dixon, Sasha’s aunt, and Brian’s sister. She helps guide Brian on how to raise Sasha, while trying to remain the “cool” aunt. She’s a straightforward character and not afraid to go head-to-head with her older brother. Porscha Coleman has appeared on episodes of My Wife and Kids, Boston Public, The Parkers, 7th Heaven, and Bones.
Coleman has also appeared in the series Paradise City, Silicon Valley, Switched at Birth, and Good Girls. She also had roles in the films Woman Thou Art Loosed and the Disney Channel Original Film Pixel Perfect.
Jonathan Kite (Johnny Williams)
Jonathan Kite plays Johnny, Brian’s best friend. He’s also a cop and a dad. In an interview with NBC New York, Kite mentions that Dad Stop Embarrassing Me will address some of the issues with cops, especially in Atlanta where the series was filmed, so the character Johnny should be focal in those episodes.
Kite is best known for playing Oleg in 2 Broke Girls. Oleg was the very pervy fry cook at the diner where the two main characters worked. He played that character for all six seasons. Jonathan Kite has also appeared in episodes of The Suite Life on Deck, Raising Hope, Wizards of Waverly Place, Black Dynamite, and Cleopatra in Space.
Heather Hemmens (Stacy Collins)
Heather Hemmens plays the recurring character Stacy Collins. Roswell, New Mexico fans will recognize Hemmens for her role as Maria DeLuca. Heather Hemmens has appeared in episodes of CSI: NY, CSI: Miami, Without a Trace, The Haves and the Have Nots, Grey’s Anatomy, and The Vampire Diaries.

Valente Rodriguez plays the recurring character Manny. He’s a friend of the Dixon family. Rodriguez plays Principal Gutierrez on High School Musical: The Musical-The Series. Valente Rodriguez is best known for his role as Ernie on George Lopez.
