The highly awaited, standalone expansion pack for Arma 2 has officially gone gold…and that means that the master disc has gone off to the manufacturers. Operation Arrowhead boasts whole new scenarios for both single and multiplayer experiences, complete with vehicle use, dynamic environment manipulation and more.

Bohemia Interactive’s CEO, Marek Spanel, commented in the press release, saying…

“We're very proud to have finally finished work on Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead. Despite being labelled as a standalone expansion pack, the amount of content we have produced for Arma 2: Operation Arrowhead constitutes a full game by any reasonable measurement, and we’re certain that once players get their hands on it on the 29th of June, they won’t be disappointed.”

The original Arma 2 was already a kick-butt game so that’s good news for gamers who really wanted more out of the experience. The standalone doesn’t require the original Arma 2 to play but for those who already have it the expansion will [typically] expand the original game with an additional library of military warfare goodness.
