Starting July 9th Firefall will officially head into open beta. Red 5 Studios' first or third-person shooter enables gamers to venture across a sprawling world shrouded by dangerous inhabitants. The game has several unique gameplay mechanics and you'll soon be able to get into the game without requiring an exclusive beta key.
Red 5 Studios has been promoting Firefall for quite some time, continually giving players something to look forward to and always using reasonable community feedback to help improve the game. Yes, the developers managed the rare feat of making a change to the game based on player feedback, so if the game sucks we can only blame ourselves.
The game tries to get away from the typical grind by enabling players to mix and match their classes at the press of a button and enabling for exploration through a story-oriented questing system. This method of mixing story and exploration gives the game an easy-to-grasp learning mechanic for beginners, while keeping veteran MMO players engaged during the starting noob sections of the game.
James Macauley, Vice President of Development at Red 5 Studios commented about the game, saying...
“We’re incredibly excited to be nearing what we consider to be the most important stage of Firefall’s development – Open Beta,” ... “For us, Open Beta isn’t a traditional ‘marketing beta’, but rather an opportunity to include many more players in our community-driven development process. We’re looking forward to welcoming these new players into the community and continuing to build an amazing game together.”
Firefall doesn't look or play like any other MMO out there, it feels like it's own unique experience and the cel-shaded graphics really help to give the game its own identity. The inclusion of the instanced PvP also allows players to tackle the game in a more traditionally competitive route, which is why Firefall is an eSport pursuant.
You can register for Firefall right now or wait until July 9th and you and your friends can hop into the game for free, without any barriers. For more information be sure to visit the Official Website.
