Godsrule Open Beta Key Giveaway

The next best thing to getting a game for free is getting to play the game before it comes out for free. In this case, Sega and Gogogic are unleashing free promotional content for the MMO Godsrule because they need testers to help finalize the game and they have more than $20 worth of digital content waiting to give to you.

While Sega is in some pretty hot water over their publishing duties of Aliens: Colonial Marines, perhaps they can earn some brownie points by giving you free stuff? Maybe?

Well, if you're still angry at them over letting Gearbox, Demiurge, Nerve and TimeGate botch Aliens, that's fine.

For those of you willing to let bygones be bygones and move on to another game that may redeem some of Sega's integrity, Godsrule aims to take a small step in the right direction of being a noteworthy product under Sega's publishing label.

The game is an isometric RTS RPG set in a persistent online world with cross-platform play between mobile devices and PC, so you can keep in touch with friends and play whether you're at home or on the go.

The beta keys will not only grant you access to the game but also to some cash shop goodies, as described below...

Players who register with an Open Beta key code will receive over $20 in Orbs (premium in-game currency). Orbs can be used to speed up building, research, and training times. They can also be used to upgrade spells, acquire premium battle units, purchase tokens for the daily lottery, and more.

We'll be handing out beta keys the way we always do...on our Facebook page. You'll find them scattered throughout our coverage on Facebook periodically, so keep an eye out.

Once you get hold of a beta key, be sure to head on over to the official Godsrule beta sign-up page. Just to give you all a taste of the game, here are a few keys to get you started. Keys won't be active until February 22nd, 12:00pm PST. So keep hold of your key until then.
