Skyrim, Oculus Rift Support Invade Garry's Mod
A new addon for Garry's Mod called Full Body Awareness is basically a true-to-form first-person modification, making the gameplay replicate a near full first-person experience, similar to the Arma games but even more dynamic.
The video above is a test of the FBA addon in Garry's Mod 13 using a modified animation blending system based on Half-Life 2's deathmatch. The view-plane and animation setup are specifically tuned so that it really feels like you're playing the game in first-person, making it an ideal way to goof around, play game modes, race, parkour or do whatever it is you enjoy doing in Garry's Mod using something like the Oculus Rift.
I'm especially impressed with the way the movements are handled – it's very smooth and very dynamic. For those of you who don't know, the Oculus Rift dev kits have currently been passed out to Kickstarter backers and implementation for additional games and API is currently happening at this very moment. We can expect to see the consumer edition soon enough.
What's more is that modders have been working on getting additional games tweaked to work with Garry's Mod, such as porting over maps, monsters and weapons from games like Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim, joining the illustrious line-up of other games that have been force-modded into Garry's Mod, including Halo, Super Monkey Ball, Mario and Minecraft...yes...Minecraft.
