New Wonder Woman Trailer Highlights The Amazon's Action-Packed Mission Of Justice

After 75 years of comic book, TV, animated and video game adventures, Wonder Woman finally made her live action theatrical debut last year in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. Now more than a year later, Diana of Themyscira is getting the spotlight to herself as the DC Extended Universe winds the clock back to show what happened when she first entered man's world. Plenty of Wonder Woman trailers have dropped, but with just a month to go until the blockbuster's release, we've entered the final stretch of marketing, and a new trailer dropped tonight that's packed with action-packed moments from the Amazon's mission of justice.

The latest Wonder Woman preview has arrived online after premiering during tonight's Gotham episode, and it does a good job of showing off just how exciting Diana's time off Themyscira will be. After training to be a warrior for who knows how many years, the Amazon princess will put her skills to the test when she accompanies Steve Trevor back to Europe as World War I rages. Whether she's disguised as Diana Prince or wearing her battle gear out in the open, she'll be leaving quite the impression among those around her.

While it would be great if Diana could bring peace to the world nonviolently, that's just not possible in a conflict as massive and devastating as World War I. So, with her bulletproof bracelets, Lasso of Truth and enchanted sword, she'll be delivering quite the beating to the German soldiers and any who stand in her way of ending the war. However, while the war will inevitably end like it did in real life, we already know from Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice that the events in Wonder Woman will lead Diana to turn her back on mankind for nearly a century. Next month, we'll finally find out what specifically leads her to do this...aside from witnessing the general horrors and atrocities from the Great War, of course.

Wonder Woman's main cast consists of Gal Gadot as the eponymous heroine, Chris Pine as Steve Trevor, Connie Nielsen as Queen Hippolyta, Lucy Davis as Etta Candy, Danny Huston as General Erich Ludendorff, Robin Wright as General Antiope, Elena Anaya as Doctor Poison and David Thewlis reportedly playing Ares. Moviegoers won't have to wait long to see Diana of Themyscira on the big screen again, because her present-day self will be fighting alongside Batman, Aquaman, Flash and Cyborg in Justice League this November.

Wonder Woman will be released in theaters on June 2, and make sure to check out our 2017 movie schedule to find out what other blockbusters are coming this summer.
