Subscribe To Elder Scrolls Online Is Free To Play This Week Updates
ZeniMax Online announced that they have a new promotion that they have running for Elder Scrolls Online, where the game will be free for an entire week. Not only that, but gamers will have access to large amounts of content that were previously behind pay-walls.
There will also be 500 free crowns handed out as well. For the uninitiated, the crowns are the cash shop currency that can be used to purchase items that would usually cost real money. The crowns can be used to upgrade your character, purchase premium cosmetic gear for your toons, or purchase some pets to ride on. As is usual with most of these promotions, you'll be able to keep all of your character data, progress and items as you move through Elder Scrolls Online. The free trial also applies to PC, PS4 and Xbox One gamers, so there are no limitations or platform restrictions.
It's a good way to lure in new players no matter what platform they play on, because the only thing they'll lose through the process is bandwidth and time. Of course, if you're on a bandwidth cap from your internet service provider, it's likely not going to look too appealing to you.
In addition to Elder Scrolls Online: Tamriel Unlimited being made available for free for the entire week, they've also discounted the other expansions for the game as well across all three platforms. Gamespot is reporting that the base game will be discounted along with Elder Scrolls Online: Gold Edition, which comes with the additional Imperial City, Orsinium, Thieves Guild and the Dark Brotherhood. Getting all of the packs together in the Gold Edition usually costs $60, but it will be marked down during the free trial in order to lure gamers into the fold.
ZeniMax is likely hoping that gamers who put in some play time with the free trial will be enticed so much by what they play that they'll be willing to buy the full thing and continue their journeys through Tamriel and possibly make some new friends along the way.
The discount and free trial arrive ahead of the big update planned for this summer, which will take The Elder Scrolls Online to Morrowind, the legendary isle that first made its appearance in game format more than a decade ago when The Elder Scrolls III: Morrowind launched for both PC and the OG Xbox. A lot of gamers absolutely fell in love with Morrowind from way back in the day, mostly due to how rich the lore was and how much it felt like a classical, open-world, sandbox RPG experience.
There's really no way to know for sure how well the expansion pack for the Elder Scrolls Online will treat Morrowind and whether or not it will be the experience that a lot of gamers crave from the location, but you don't have to worry much about that if all you want to do is play the free trial for the week.
