The Awesome Actress Riverdale's Skeet Ulrich Wants To Play Jughead's Mom

Neve Campbell Leann Harvey House of Cards

With questions regarding Betty Cooper's family history and the Black Hood taking front and center Season 2, some of Riverdale's lesser known mysteries have fallen by the wayside. For example, we know Jughead Jones' mom lives out of town with his little sister Jellybean, but we have yet to learn if either one will ever be featured on the show. If Jughead's mom does make an appearance, F.P. actor Skeet Ulrich had the perfect suggestion for an awesome actress and former co-star to play the part:

I mean, God, I think Neve [Campbell] would be really interesting, I know she's busy doing some films and stuff like that, so I don't know if that's a possibility. But yeah, I think she'd be very intriguing. She's very talented, and I think the reference to Scream would really tickle people.

F.P. Jones may not have the best ideas on Riverdale, but the actor who portrays him sure does! Skeet Ulrich really knocked it out of the park in sharing his suggestion to TVLine about bringing his former Scream and The Craft co-star Neve Campbell into the mix. And the casting would be a treat to any Riverdale fan old enough to have seen those films. The casting also doesn't seem all that off-base for The CW drama either, considering it currently has former Beverly Hills, 90210 actor Luke Perry portraying Archie's father and Brat Pack actress Molly Ringwald playing his mother.

With Neve Campbell likely out of House of Cards and featured in just a few films currently in post-production, her schedule is certainly seems open, should the Riverdale team wish to cast her for Season 3. While it certainly feels as though the cards are aligning for this to happen, the last we heard from Jughead's mom in Riverdale, she was in Toledo and all too content in staying as far away as she could from her ex-husband and Jughead as possible.

Of course, things could always go south for Jughead's mom and force her to return to Riverdale. In a world where 16-year-old suburban kids hunt down serial killers and run drugs for gangs, marital problems and estranged wives returning aren't that big of a stretch. Let's just hope now that Skeet Ulrich is in the right people's ear about bringing Neve Campbell on the show, because if anyone could stop the Black Hood (provided he's not really dead) it's Sidney Prescott.

Riverdale returns to The CW with new episodes Wednesday, January 17.
