Suits is readying for its final season, and it will have a Star Trek: The Next Generation veteran along for the ride. The long-running legal drama is coming to an end with Season 9, and Denise Crosby will be there as they reach its final frontier.

The actress, who played Lieutenant Tasha Yar on Star Trek: The Next Generation, will be lawyering up for the new role. Denise Crosby will portray Faye Richardson for Suits’ final season, per Deadline. Faye is the New York Bar Association’s “no-nonsense representative.” There is more.

She has what sounds like will be terrible news for Harvey. Faye arrives at the firm to give them a court order, which will reportedly have “serious consequences.” Not the best tiding to receive from the bar.

Denise Crosby will star in a recurring capacity during Season 9. That's a sign that she will probably be around regularly throughout Suits’ final bow. Faye’s court order signals that Zane Specter Litt Wheeler Williams’ legal issues are far from over.

In the Season 8 finale, Robert Zane saved Harvey by taking the fall for him. Despite that, it sounds like the bar is still going after the law firm. Will this come as a surprise to Gabriel Macht’s Harvey? Maybe.

In the previous season finale, Harvey went off to have an ending that was not originally planned with Sarah Rafferty’s Donna. Enjoy the good times while they last! Whatever happens with the court order, Harvey and Donna should have each other’s backs.

Returning for the ninth and final season will be original star Patrick J. Adams. The soon-to-be Right Stuff star will reprise his role as Mike for Season 9’s fifth episode. He will be doing so in a case that has him opposite Harvey and the law firm.

Fans will recall that Mike previously walked off into the sunset with his new bride, Meghan Markle’s Rachel Zane. She is not expected to return. Meghan Markle is married to Prince Harry and now the Duchess of Sussex and new mom to her baby son, Archie. A return to the television show would be surprising.

Suits may be ending, but its universe will live on in the form of its upcoming spinoff. Pearson will star Gina Torres back in her role as the eponymous Jessica Pearson. Earlier this year, Torres explained why she wanted her Suits character to get her own show.

As for Suits, Harvey and the law firm will have their hands full in Season 9. If there was no drama, there would be no reason to watch. Can Harvey pull off a happy ending for himself and the law firm before the series ends? Tune in and find out.

Suits will return for its final season as one of this year’s summer premieres. Season 9 premieres on July 17 at 9 p.m. ET on USA.
