Jamie Foxx is very well known as a stylish man about town, with the actor frequently playing characters who have distinct senses of style, while also displaying his own love for looking good in real life. But, now Foxx is showing off what will be at least one of his looks for his new Netflix show, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!, which will see him deviate from his usual handsome self.
Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! will focus on Jamie Foxx's Brian Dixon, who has to handle parenting his teen daughter after she moves in with him. The sitcom is set to hit Netflix soon, so Foxx has now shared one of the other characters he's going to be playing on the series, and it's quite a change from how we usually see the star. Wellllllll, hello there Cadillac Calvin! If you were able to catch any of the profanities and other NSFW words of the, apparently, mush-mouthed character, it seems that Jamie Foxx is correct that Calvin will be "wilding out" when Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! premieres. Also, you can't deny that the gray hair and partially balding head is a change for Foxx, but it's clear that the actor is getting a kick out of it, and long-time fans of his will understand why.
It might be difficult for newer fans of Jamie Foxx's to believe, but this type of character work is far from unusual for the Oscar-winning comedian. He first came to prominence as a member of the cast on the hit Fox sketch comedy In Living Color from 1991-1994, where he impersonated a number of real-life people, and created some truly insane characters. These include celebrities such as Little Richard, Garrett Morris, Martin Lawrence, Lionel Richie, and Eddie Murphy. But, Foxx also really stood out when he created his own crazy characters, like the ugliest woman in the world, Wanda.
From the look of the trailer for Dad Stop Embarrassing Me!, the show (which also stars Foxx's In Living Color cohort David Alan Grier), Foxx will be taking on a number of other wild characters with weird looks, including a flamboyant preacher and a sunglasses-wearing bar patron with a very unfortunate hairstyle, which you'll just have to see in order to believe.
Basically, if anyone was wondering why movie star Jamie Foxx would take time out of his currently very busy schedule to star in a sitcom on Netflix, it seems to be so that he could go back to his love of wearing nutty costumes and showing off his silliest characters. As he noted in his post, Dad Stop Embarrassing Me! is going to give us Foxx as he goes "#backonmyfunnyshit," which is something great to look forward to.
