Yesterday a Boston Globe article on 38 Studios' MMO Project Copernicus revealed that the game would be released at the end of 2010. However, according to the developer, this isn't true.

Today a spokesperson for 38 Studios sent Blend Games a statement clarifying the release details for Copernicus:

38 Studios has reached several significant milestones in the development of its upcoming MMOG, codenamed Copernicus. While there are rumors that the game will be released in Q4 2010, this is not, nor has ever been, an official release date. When the company first formed, tentative dates were discussed; however, 38 Studios will release Copernicus when the project is complete to our standards and satisfaction. Fans can look forward to 2010 when the company will begin discussing details on the intellectual property.

Fair enough. As the original article mentions, 38 Studios is still seeking additional investors for the medieval fantasy MMO. Tough to really nail down a release date when the game's in its early stages and still hasn't secure all of its funding.
