Red Bull Battle Grounds: Watch It Here Live
Red Bull has been using the entire summer to help promote and market their big eSports event of the year, the Red Bull Battle Grounds, taking place over this weekend at the Hammerstein Ballroom in New York. Titillate the gaming audience with a build-up of some of the most intense competitive pools featured in a StarCraft II tournament, Red Bull hopes to captivate and entertain this weekend with some of the best match-ups in a live eSports event.
The pool of competitive players includes well known names and faces, such as Choi Ji Sung, aka “Bomber” from Korea, Jens Aasgaard, aka “Snute” from Norway, and Sasha Hostyn, aka “Scarlett” from Canada.
Some of the color commentary might also come across as familiar to some gamers, with names like Sean “Day” Plott and Marcus “djWHEAT” Graham providing play-by-play of the action, along with popular YouTube celebrity and renown video game critic, The Cynical Brit, John “Totalbiscuit” Bain.
You don't even need to go far to get in on the action, which is why we have the live-stream embedded right there at the top of this article. You can just sit back, relax, hit the play button and enjoy the real-time strategy action as if you were there, live at the event.
The pools will be split into two groups, and they'll battle it out for supremacy over the course of the 23rd and the 24th, with the winner walking away with the total prize pot of $50,000.
While it sounds like a heck of a lot of fun and seems like a blast, there's a measure of intensity, skill, concentration and dedication required to be as good as the individuals involved in the Battle Grounds tournament. Many of these guys and gals make it their life to be professional butt-kickers in the eSports arena, and you'll get to see them do what they do best on the grand stage in New York, this weekend.
If you can't wait for the live-stream to get started and you need a little something-something to tide you over until things get up and underway, feel free to check out a mini-documentary of Choi Ji Sung's journey to the Red Bull Battle Grounds with the video below.
