MAJOR SPOILERS ahead from the 2019 Big Brother 21 live feeds.
I may have to take back my praise for Cliff Hogg III. He is not the "Boss Hogg" of Big Brother 21 after all. It's pretty clearly Christie Murphy.
Cliff is the Head of Household this week, and he nominated Jack Matthews and Jackson Michie for eviction. A bold move. Michie won the Power of Veto and he took himself off the block. Since Jack was Cliff's target, Cliff originally planned to put up someone like Analyse Talavera (Jack's showmance mate), Holly Allen, or Tommy Bracco. Cliff knows the pairs are working together (Jackson & Holly, Jack & Sis, Tommy & Christie), even if he doesn't know the six are called The Six Shooters. Nick Maccarone and Bella Wang used to be part of the couples' alliance called Gr8ful which was briefly upgraded to Unde9able, but those cringe-worthy alliance names are dunzo.
The Veto Ceremony was held today (Monday, July 22, 2019) and Cliff agreed to Christie's plan -- she said she wouldn't use her Diamond Veto Panic Power and he wouldn't put up a pawn next to Jack. Instead, she will hold on to her power to use later and he replaced Jackson with Bella. The understanding at this point is that Jack vs. Bella will end in Bella being evicted on Thursday, July 25. We'll see, though.
So Cliff didn't even flush out Christie's power. He just agreed to backdoor her target in exchange for promised safety. As if The Six Shooters didn't just promise him safety last week and then blindsided him.
Here's my question: Will The House really evict Bella over Jack? Knee-jerk reaction is "yes," because she has rubbed a lot of people the wrong way and The Six Shooters still seem to be running things. The people who can't stand Jack are mostly out of the house (including the fans at home). There was a time when Christie recognized Jack as a threat trying to run her game. Now she's running everyone else's games and saving Jack at no cost to herself.
However, 10 people are voting this week, which could potentially leave a tie. Or it could lead to a shift in the house with the vote in favor of evicting Jack instead of Bella. I doubt that will happen, but it would be my preferred scenario. Since it's only Monday, there's plenty of time for the vote to shift back and forth before Thursday's live eviction.
Bella may be unpopular for many reasons, but she also currently represents The Other Side Of The House. Bella and Nick were not working with Cliff, Nicole Anthony, Jessica Milagros, and Kathryn Dunn, but now that six could potentially flip the house.
That said, Kat is basically playing secret agent and seems to really have loyalty to people in the couples. She's like a spy for Six Shooters, which is frustrating. Jess has also been shown willing to give up her game for people on the other side who are not working with her. Nicole too, actually. She seems tight with Jackson Michie. So I don't see these people actually acting in their best interests and keeping Bella to break up the majority couples.
Getting out Jack would be HUGE but I don't think the numbers are there because Kat won't got for it. Would Nicole even go for it, or would Michie try to play some kind of favor card -- like she owes Jack and Jackson for staying last week?
No one seems to want Bella in the jury, because she'd be bitter as hell and just unpleasant to deal with. So that's one argument going around. Right now, it looks like Bella will be evicted. But we know to Expect The Unexpected on Big Brother, so I can still hope that the tide turns and this week it's The Six Shooters who are blindsided instead of Nick and Bella.
