Fallout 4 is only a few days old and someone has already made a nudity mod. Are you surprised? I'm not surprised.
Once you've loaded the mod, your character will be completely naked when you remove your gear. It also does the same for certain NPCs including merchants, caravan guards and settlers. However, unlike the Witcher 3 nude mod, this Fallout 4 modification only works for female characters. If you have fantasies of running through the post-apocalyptic forests of the Commonwealth with your Pip-Boy flapping around, you'll have to find another mod.
This is far from the first time we've seen a nudity mod for a video game. The creator of this mod, DeviantArt user Art of the Body, has made similar modifications for other games. He also introduced nudity to several characters in Mortal Kombat X and Final Fantasy 13. He's gotten pretty good at it by now.
The first version of the mod was released a mere day after Fallout 4 debuted. Since then, Art of the Body has released two revisions. You can download the mod here. Here's what he said about the most recent edition:
In this version I revised what I did in Mortal Kombat, so now the normal map is edited more, I also added a normal map for the head to make the females head a little less wrinkly. I finally learned how to properly import the textures back so there's now no noticeable lines between textures. The nipples have been adjusted again slightly as well as the vagina and anus.
I imagine we'll see some other nudity mods for Fallout 4 in the future. Fellow Bethesda RPG Skyrim received several in its lifespan. Some modders went even further than that, introducing actual sex to the game. If you're looking to get your jollies in the wasteland, you should have no shortage of options - especially once the official modding tools are released.
