Netflix isn't offering a whole lot of variety in the way of major feature films, but a bit of Jurassic Park goes a long way. The original trilogy of dinosaur thrillers are lined up among the offerings at the start of the month, along with A Walk To Remember, Rock the Kasbah and J. Edgar. On the TV side of things, Netflix will have the latest season of Scandal ready for binge-watching, along with Grey's Anatomy and Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.. There's also the premiere of the fourth season of Netflix's original dramedy Orange is the New Black.

There’s really not a whole lot to see here, outside of Netflix’s original offerings. The early month update offers a bit of nostalgia in the form of Bring it On (and a sequel you probably don’t remember), Sixteen Candles and Pleasantville. We also have a handful of Kevin Hart comedy specials to fill the hours on May 1.

Among the mentioned original offerings is the next Adam Sandler movie, The Do-Over, as well as new seasons of Bloodline, Chef’s Table and Grace & Frankie.

Given that there usually only seems to be a handful of well known movies on Netflix list of added content each month, April's crop of newcomers isn't looking so bad. On the feature side, this month brings The Shawshank Redemption, Deep Impact, Erin Brockovich and Chaplin. There's also a bit of Kubrick thrown in there, with A Clockwork Orange and 2001: A Space Odyssey on the list. Later in the month, the kids have Minions to look forward to.

On the TV series side of things, we have the return of The Unbreakable Kimmy Schdmidt, as well as the arrival (or revival) of Danger Mouse. Netflix also has the animated movie and series Kong: King of the Apes coming up.

Netflix has managed to work in some recognizable titles amid some lesser known options in March. For those not clamoring to watch those American Pie Presents movies, we have Groundhog Day to anticipate, as well as the opportunity to appreciate the villainous side of Alan Rickman in Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves. Among the movies also joining Netflix streaming in March are Scarface, the 1979 Star Trek: The Motion Picture and arguably the best Star Trek movie of the series, Wrath of Khan. Netflix will also be dropping their new Pee Wee movie, Pee-Wee’s Big Holiday.

On the TV side of things, we have new seasons of Daredevil and House of Cards to look forward to, as well as Season 10 of Trailer Park Boys and Season 5 of Louie.

Netflix’s February offerings include a pile of movies at the start of the month, including Armageddon, Charlie’s Angels, Cruel Intentions and Stanley Kubrick’s Full Metal Jacket. We’re also finally getting the first season of Better Call Saul, just a couple weeks ahead of AMC’s debut of Season 2.

Later in the month, there’s Atonement, Dope and the second season of The Returned. On the original programming aside, those with a bit of 80s nostalgia in them will have Fuller House Season 1 to anticipate. I suggest pairing that with a viewing of Teen Witch if the 80s-mood strikes.

Netflix hasn’t been overly generous with its movie additions in recent months, but the streaming service appears to be ringing in the new year with a slew of titles, including Ben Stiller starters Along Came Polly and Meet the Parents, as well as Fast and Furious sequel 2 Fast 2 Furious, and the lesser known Bring It On TV followups Bring It On: Fight to the Finish and Bring it On: In it to Win It. On the comic book side of things, there’s the 2004 Catwoman, starring Halle Berry, and 2005’s Constantine, starring Keanu Reeves.

Training Day, Swordfish and The Whole Ten Yards are among some of the other features coming to Netflix in January 2016. On the TV side, there’s the third installment to Syfy’s Sharknado series, as well as the second season of the zombie drama Z Nation, and the final season of NBC’s Parks and Recreation. Later in the month, Netflix will add number of Frozen Planet titles, for those in the mood for a bit of Discovery.

Coming off of a really satisfying binge of Netflix’s latest original series Jessica Jones, I'm finding it hard to be too critical of the streaming service’s latest crop of offerings. Clearly, they’re focusing more of their attention (and probably money) on producing original content for their subscribers. With that said, yeesh! The Da Vinci Code, Ray and Vampire Academy are among the few recognizable feature titles, mixed with some other promising but less prominent offerings.

On the TV side, Parenthood fans will get the final season in the series. There’s also Nurse Jackie, Battle Creek, Helix Season 2 and Hart of Dixie Season 4.

As mentioned, Netflix is all about the original programming these days, and on that front, their slate for December isn’t so bad, with F is for Family and Bill Murray’s A Very Murray Christmas likely appealing the older crowd, and The Adventures of Puss in Boots (Season 2), Dawn of the Croods and Glitter Force lined up for the kids.

Once again, for movies, it seems like bigger titles are exiting Netflix, while smaller ones are joining the lineup. In the case of August, some of the more recognizable movie titles leaving Netflix include Titanic, Face/Off, Kiss the Girls and Joe Dirt, all of which will be gone as of August 1. But on the positive side, Netflix has some interesting new offerings, including comedies Leap Year, For A Good Time Call, Seeking A Friend for the End of the World and Kristen Wiig's Welcome to Me.

On the TV side, Doctor Who's 8th season joins the Netflix lineup, along with Revenge Season 4 and Once Upon a Time. There's also the first season of Girl Meets World to anticipate.

In terms of movies, Netflix may be losing a bit more than it's gaining, with Cast Away, Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, Four Weddings and A Funeral, among the films leaving the subscription service, to make room for Grandma's Boy, Saw V and others.

The above said, it's hard to complain about Netflix's original offerings in July. Not only will Season 2 of Bojack Horseman be making its debut, but so will the Wet Hot American Summer series, as well as comedian Tig Notaro's anticipated Tig special.

From a TV perspective, it's great to see Netflix getting Scandal and Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.'s latest seasons available to stream so soon after they wrapped up on network TV. Those of us who fell behind on one or both will be able to get caught up before next season. Meanwhile, Orange is the New Black returns for more prison-set shenanigans, and the Wachowskis' new show Sense8 will make its grand premiere. On the vintage side, we have ten whole seasons of Danger Mouse (Danger Moooooouse!) to feast on.

Jake Gyllenhaal fans won't want to miss Nightcrawler, in which the actor goes full-on creeper as an enterprising, morally-questionable man who discovers the lucrative business of capturing footage of accident scenes and selling it to the news. Netflix is also offering up Cake, The Butler and Grace of Monaco. Also among the features arriving in June is the feature adaptation of Nicholas Sparks' The Best of Me, Martin Scorsese's The Aviator, and The Cobbler, which stars Adam Sandler.

Hot Girls Wanted

Among May's offerings are the mentioned films, including Quentin Tarantino's World War II set drama Inglorious Basterds and both Legally Blonde movies. Also set to make its Netflix debut is Laika's latest stop-motion animated installment, The Boxtrolls. (That one may be paired best with some cheese!)

On the documentary side of things, the Rashida Jones-produced doc Hot Girls Wanted arrives at the end of May. Directed by Jill Bauer and Ronna Gradus, the film made its debut at Sundance this year, and takes a closer look at today's pornography industry, specifically as it relates to 18- and 19-year-old girls.

Horror-comedy Zombeavers will stream on Netflix, starting May 19, which just so happens to be the same day the film will arrive on DVD.

As for TV, those in need of a good binge of Hoarders, Dance Moms and American Restoration will have some new options next month. There's also the premiere off Grace and Frankie, the new comedy coming to Netflix, starring Jane Fonda and Lily Tomlin.

Netflix will also premiere Between, the sci-fi drama about a small town where everyone over the age of 21 has died of a mysterious disease. Unfortunately, we won't get to binge-watch that one (unless you want to wait until all of the episodes are released). Between is airing on Canada's City, in addition to streaming on Netflix in the U.S. So Netflix will be releasing one episode at a time, every Thursday at 8:30pm PT, starting 5/21.
