This fall Microsoft and 343 Industries have plans to unleash the next chapter in the popular Halo saga. Halo 4 will kickstart a brand new trilogy of games starring Master Chief and Cortana, his trusty AI sidekick. To help gamers get the most out of both the co-op and competitive multiplayer, Mad Catz has announced specially branded Halo 4 headsets.

The new headsets will contain designs and inspiration from the upcoming sci-fi first-person shooter, taking gamers' favorite green-armored space marine and putting those themes into the new headsets.

Darren Richardson, the President and Chief Executive Officer of Mad Catz Interactive, commented about the new headsets, saying...
“We are excited to add Halo 4 to our portfolio of world class video game licenses"... “Halo is one of the world’s most popular video games and these new Halo branded headsets are sure to appeal to the passionate gamer who wants to maximize his or her Halo experience.”

Unfortunately no public screenshots or press photos were made available for the upcoming headsets but they'll be arriving soon enough. Frank O’Connor, the Franchise Development Director at 343 Industries stated had a little bit of something to share regarding the new gaming peripherals, adding...
“We’ve worked closely with TRITTON engineers and industrial designers to ensure compelling and appropriate technological and aesthetic designs that map closely to Halo’s epic sci-fi universe.”

I know we've seen headsets a dime a dozen and branded headsets are nothing new, but I'm a little bit excited about how these new headsets might look, you know? Will they be bulky like the Chief's armor or will they be sleek and cool like the Covenent's designs? Will there be multiple colors or just Chief's metal-green finish? What will the pricing range be and will there be wired or wireless options? The questions almost seem unending!

Anyways, we'll probably have the questions answered soon enough. The headsets are scheduled to launch exclusive for the Xbox 360 later this year, near the launch of Halo 4.
