As of right now, James Gunn and Peter Safran’s DC Studios takeover in October 2022 has resulted in two big-screen features, 2025’s Superman and 2026's Supergirl. That first film was a big enough box office success, while the latter movie flopped. Nevertheless, there's still enthusiasm about DC's future. There's still a films set for release in 2026 and beyond, alongside a variety of DC TV shows on the way, and CinemaBlend is keeping track.
Below, DC fans can find all of DC Studios’ upcoming film projects, first those whose developments are already cemented in place, followed by projects that have been announced or rumored. Clayface - October 23, 2026

Get ready for a villainous origin story quite like any other, with Clayface set to bring the DCU into the spooky lineup of upcoming horror movies, and with no clear sign just yet of how it will connect with the canonical animated series Creature Commandos, where Clayface is voiced by Alan Tudyk. But with esteemed genre filmmaker Mike Flanagan responsible for the story and initial screenplay, I have all the faith that it’ll deliver both the chills and the fan-servicing thrills, with the first trailer as proof.
Set before the events of Creature Commandos in the timeline, Clayface tells the story of Matt Hagen, an actor whose on-the-rise career is derailed when his face is completely disfigured by a Gotham City gangster. Without anywhere else to turn, Hagen seeks the skills of a scientist whose experimental treatment transforms the actor’s body into clay. Chaos, presumably, will ensue. For all that the story and body horror description will please horror fans, the casting of Welsh actor Tom Rhys Harries was a curious one, and it’s unclear if he’ll be able to put audiences in theater seats.
Batman: Knightfall Parts 2 And 3 - TBA 2026 And 2027

The Golden Age of DC animated projects ended with the dissolution of the DC Animated Movie Universe in 2024, but one of the Dark Knight’s most celebrated story arcs is being turned into a multi-part animated film from Warner Bros. Animation. The source material was crafted in 1993-1994 from various writers and artists (including DC legend Dennis O’Neil, Chuck Dixon, Doug Moench, Jim Aparo and more), and features the infamous moment where Batman’s back is broken by Bane.
Knightfall follows the events of that trauma, with Jean-Paul Valley’s vigilante Azrael taking over as Gotham City’s protector, though not always for the better, as Azrael’s more violent actions turn the public’s trust against Batman.

Man of Tomorrow was revealed quite early on in the scheme of things, a month or so head of Superman’s theatrical release, with the idea that it wouldn’t be a direct sequel, in that the story will see David Corenswet’s Superman having to work alongside Nicholas Hoult’s Lex Luthor with the shared goal of taking down the highly dangerous intergalactic threat of the villainous Brainiac.
Indeed, Brainiac’s arrival (as portrayed under heavy makeup by German actor Lars Eidinger) is a huge reason why fans are eager to see Man of Tomorrow hit the big screen, but the promise of seeing Guy Gardner’s Green Lantern sharing the screen with Aaron Pierre’s John Stewart (debuting in HBO’s Lanterns) is also high up on that list, at least for yours truly. Rumors point to new cast member Adria Arjona bulking up to play a Wonder Woman-esque character, but will she actually be the DCU’s Diana?
The Batman: Part II (October 1, 2027)

The Batman: Part II finally went into production in recent months after an elongated development period, making the dark and gritty sequel finally feel like a reality. Which was definitely helped along when director Matt Reeves took to social media to make Sebastian Stan and Scarlett Johansson’s rumored castings official, as well as those of other co-stars. Not that there hasn’t been debate about who Stan and Johansson are playing. However, Stan seemingly revealed he was playing Harvey Dent.
The next live-action Batman film will reportedly be more focused on Bruce Wayne in detective mode as he investigates a new source of Gotham City corruption that rises up in the aftermath of The Riddler’s flooding scheme, with The Long Halloween comic miniseries being a storyline source. It'll also give audiences a follow-up on Colin Farrell’s Oz Cobb after the events of HBO’s The Penguin.
Dynamic Duo - June 30, 2028

One of the most interesting DC projects of any era, Dynamic Duo is set to pull focus on two of the Caped Crusader’s most noteworthy sidekicks, Dick Grayson and Jason Todd, both of whom have brought justice to Gotham City criminals as Robin. The new movie will utilize a mixture of various animation formats — including stop-motion, miniatures, puppetry, models, animatronics and CGI — being handled by the NOLA-located studio Swaybox.
First announced back in October 2024, the impending project revealed in September 2025 that 500 Days of Summer writers and Daisy Jones & The Six creators Scott Neustadter Michael H. Weber were brought in to rewrite the movie. Other than that, and the fact that it won't tie into any other DCU or Batman projects, news has been pretty slight.
Upcoming DC Movies Still Early In Development
- The Brave and the Bold - At the time of this writing, Christina Hodson was revealed in January 2026 to be working on the script, though it's not clear at this point if Andy Muschietti is still attached to direct this Batman and Robin-centric project. In August 2026, James Gunn also debunked a rumor that the film was on hold.
- Swamp Thing - James Mangold was reported to be working on a Swamp Thing movie back in Decemer 2022, with the idea that it would get more focus after his upcoming slate of projects (Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny and A Complete Unknown) were finished. The horror project hasn't gone defunct yet, but updates have been few and far between.
- Untitled Wonder Woman Movie - Back in Summer 2025, James Gunn confirmed a Wonder Woman movie was in development alongside the since-sidelined Paradise Lost TV plans for more Amazonian lore. Soon after, Supergirl screenwriter Ana Nogueira was revealed to have been working on the screenplay. Casting rumors aplenty have surfaced for Diana Prince, but without any confirmations from Gunn about anything other than height details, and without any further details about the movie's progress.
- Teen Titans - It's unknown how long it might be until we get a Teen Titans movie. Supergirl writer Ana Nogueira was set as the writer when the team-up film was announced back in 2024, but she pressed pause on that project to focus on introducing Wonder Woman to the DCU.
- Bane And Deathstroke Movie - I'm not sure anyone was expecting to hear that a movie focusing largely on Bane and Deathstroke was in DCU development, but so it went in 2024. At the time, Moon Knight writer Matthew Orton was noted as being screenwriter, but his future participance is reportedly tied to whether or not rumored director Greg Mottola gets the gig, per THR. That May 2026 update is the most recent of any in this batch, so it could very well happen go into production sooner rather than later.
