For the better part of the past 20 years, a Hulu subscription has been one of the best streaming services around, one that gives you access to thousands of movies, shows, documentaries, and so much more. With all kinds of shows from the 2026 TV schedule and hotly anticipated releases from the 2026 movie schedule, there are plenty of reasons to have Hulu around, and the sheer amount of bundle possibilities adds a lot of value.

If you have never signed up for Hulu before, or you let your membership lapse long ago, and want to sign back up, there are some things you should know. Come along with us as we break down everything from the various subscription options (and their respective costs) to the various bundles that can make your viewing experience all the better. We also go into how to cancel or change plans, if you’re interested. That said, let’s dive into a Hulu subscription and what it offers.

What Is The Hulu Subscription Price And What Does It Include

Like a lot of streaming services, Hulu offers its members multiple subscription models: a more expensive ad-free version and a slightly cheaper option that’s supported by ads.

Both versions of Hulu offer the same content, and the only difference is the subscription price, which, in March 2026, currently breaks down to the following:

Hulu also offers a student discount, but you have to be enrolled at a Title IV college or university to take advantage of the $1.99/month special pricing. It should also be noted that this is for the ad-supported model. There used to be a free version of Hulu for students, but that plan has since been phased out. However, if you have a Spotify Premium student account, you can get access to both for $5.99/month.

What Comes With The Hulu + Live TV Option

Hulu was considered a great alternative to cable for cord-cutters, and in 2017, the streaming service introduced a live television option. This would eventually become known as Hulu + Live TV and quickly became one of the more popular internet-TV options on the market. And while customers have not been thrilled with the price increases over the years, Hulu + Live TV is still a competitive option with more than 100 channels, including local news channels in certain markets.

Like with the standard version of the streamer, Hulu + Live TV has two different options: a $82.99/month plan that also comes with the ad-supported version of Hulu and a $95.99/month model with the ad-free streaming library. Both versions include Disney+ and ESPN+.

There are also additional add-ons available for Hulu + Live TV subscribers in categories like entertainment, sports, and Español. You can also pay an additional fee of $9.99 for unlimited screens.

Please note that the ad-free version means you won't get ads on Hulu. Live TV stations will still have commercials, as with all live TV.

Hulu has plenty of bundles available, so if you are someone who likes to have multiple streaming services included in one price (making it easier to keep track of your expenses and usually saving a little bit), then the Disney Bundle is perfect for you. So what is included with this bundle, and how much is it going to set me back? Here you go:

In addition to all the great content that comes with your Hulu subscription, several premium add-ons open up even more movies, shows, and other programming. Hulu offers the following premium cable channels: HBO Max ($18.49/month), Cinemax ($10.99/month), and Starz ($10.99/month). You can also add individual streaming services from the Disney Bundle.

Before you get a service like Hulu, it is probably best to check the list of supported devices to make sure the streaming box, gaming console, or smart TV you use to take in all your digital content can handle all the movies, shows, and other programming included in the platform’s offerings.

Here is a sampling of supported devices: Amazon Fire TV, Android phones, tablets, and TV, Apple TV, iOS devices, Nintendo Switch (though not the Switch 2), PlayStation, Roku, Samsung TV, VIZIO SmartCast TVs, Xbox, and select cable boxes.

Once you get your Hulu account all set up, you’ll want to dive into all the great original movies and shows that are now at your fingertips. If you have the Hulu (No Ads) plan, you can download all kinds of movies and shows to your phone or tablet so that you can watch them when not connected to the internet. Anyone who does a lot of traveling knows that this is one of the best features offered by streaming services, because no one wants to stare at the seat in front of them on a long flight or train ride with nothing to do.

While most of the titles on Hulu can be downloaded (look for the little download logo next to the movie or show), you won’t be able to do this for movies or shows from Premium Add-on channels. There are also some restrictions when it comes to the Hulu + Live TV subscription. If you want to know more, the Hulu help center has the full rundown on the offerings.

Hulu Has Helpful Accessibility Features

There have been great strides for inclusion and representation in movies and shows in recent years, and the same can be said about the various streaming platforms out there. Hulu offers a wide variety of accessibility features for its subscribers, which can make the experience great for anyone and everyone. From audio description tools to captions and subtitles to syncing the platform with various browser extensions to use screen readers and keyboard controls, there’s a lot to choose from.

Admittedly, some of these features require some work before you start streaming, but the Hulu help center has great resources and walk-throughs to get the most out of your streaming experience.

How To Cancel Your Hulu Subscription

Canceling an online subscription can sometimes be a task that’s easier said than done, but that’s not really the case when it comes to Hulu. If you want to cancel your Hulu subscription, all you need to do is open your account settings on a computer or mobile browser (this can’t be done in the app), select cancel, and then go through the subsequent steps.

However, if you are billed through a third party like Amazon, Apple, Roku, or your phone or TV provider, you will need to cancel your plan through those respective services.

There may come a time when you just want to put a hold on your plan instead of canceling it entirely. Well, in that case, you can pause your Hulu subscription for up to 12 weeks. This too can be done through the Hulu website.

All in all, Hulu is a robust streaming service with a ton of different features, bundles, add-ons, and other services.
