Our Rambo 5 Scoop Confirmed

By Josh Tyler: 2008-01-28 13:59:36
Our Rambo 5 Scoop Confirmed Nearly 3 months ago we were the first site to break the story that Stallone and the Weinstein company might already be in the process of cobbling together a fifth Rambo movie. We told you about it right here. Now, after the release of the fourth film our story is being confirmed elsewhere. It’s good to be right… every once in awhile. Hey, we’ll take what we can get.

The confirmation of our scoop comes from Deadline Hollywood Daily, where Nikki Finke has been on the phone with Harvey Weinstein, who tells her for the next sequel they plan to bring Rambo back to the United States. When asked if Stallone is getting too old for this shit, Harv said “I like the idea of an older guy kicking ass. Maybe it's because I'm older, too.” Plus all those steroids he's taking keep Sly pretty young.

He probably also likes the idea of making money. There hasn’t exactly been a lot of it for him since he and his brother ditched their positions at Disney owned Miramax and started The Weinstein Company. Box office success has mostly eluded TWC so far. Rambo’s second place, $18.2 million take this past weekend is one of the best openings for any of their movies, and the Weinsteins expect it to do even better overseas.

  • Stallone should ditch all thse old 80's franchises and try something new. The guy can certainly write, lets have him write and direct a decent film. If he must rejuvenate an old film let's see sequels to 'Stop...or my mom will shoot' and 'Tango & Cash'
  • Well in all honesty I thought that part 4 ended PERFECTLY. He makes it out and goes back to see how everything has changed. And he went back to find that his father was alive! A great ending to the series! He could have finally put down his spear so to speak, and let someone else take up the fight!

Though, I won't argue with a fifth movie!!! :D Any time I get to see Stallone kill people is a great time!
  • i would love rambo 5, # 4 was my favorite.
    He's a legand in war
    You Know his name
And you know what he's capable of
  • hay its great to know abt rambo 5.i hope it may be a us oriented subject.
  • Oh FUCK YEAH!!!, But if they plan to keep on throwing out the "Rambo's" until stallone can't do anymore then they should at least put an amount down so that they do not go over the top with it and Stallone should kill him off or something in the last one so that they can't make a comeback using a diferent actor once Stallone is retired or even deceased, And I'm sure we can all agree that it will not be a good idea to kill off the main charachter only to have another one of people trying to find out whos fault it is then another one where you find out that the main charachter is not really dead... Caugh Dallas caugh. But if they do intend to make another "Rambo" film then please, please DO NOT touch "Rocky", Stallone finished it off perfectly with the master piece that we call "Rocky Balboa", however if Stallone didn't make balboa and they simply ended it on rocky five then I probably would feel very cheeted as that was a true disgrace to the Rocky empire, I mean hell Stallone even admited to it being shit in an interview with Jonathan Ross, go on look it up on youtube... It's A good interview. And as much as people may want it I think, it may not be the best idea to make a Rambo featurng his early years as a major amount of Rambo lovers watch Rambo for the brilliance of the kill and the usp that it holds of being no holds bared bloody violence And with all do respect to the people that comment with this idea, I don't think a light harted drama is what that kind of viewer is after. But you really do need to aks YOURSELF the question, Is it really worth carying on or should he leave it there, with number five as an anding?
  • For R5, lets be honest Trautman should be dead or very old by now. He won't be active in the military at this time. Perhaps they could have Rambo back to Ft Bragg to help train the up coming SF candidates. They need someone with his jungle and survival knowledge to train the next generation. Think something along the lines of Full Metal Jacket meets Tigerland. If you think that all battles in the future are going to be in the Hindu Kush and the desert you are sadly mistaken. There are many Central/South American places his knowledge would be very useful.

  • long live stallone, rambo 5 would be a blessing. he means so much to so many. nobody can make a movie like stallone. ive seem fist blood thousands of times and talked about it with thousands of people. rambo 4 was brilliant and i want to travell the world making people watch his movies spreading his message. thank god and samuel troutman for creating the one and only rambo.
  • ok so rambo is back in usa the 5th film should be trapmen going to rambo and getting his help against binladen and the sept 911 ya that would be cool kicking butt in usa and in afghan looking for binladen go rambo
  • hell ya there needs to be a rambo 6 rambo is the sikest better than the 300 no dout
  • Cant wait! They should clone Rambo and make more movies with him young! Im not kidding
  • First Blood was increadible, the other two were... well not as put together, but still great. However, this last one was "Over the top" by all means, and if suspected, this next one if he does the same deal as he did in First Blood, it would be hands down the greatest film ever made.
  • I went and saw Rambo 5 times it was so good.so the idea of a fifth one is a great idea.a lot of people think its a bad idea but. i dont care if he goes to antarctica and kills peguins.I will still go see it.
  • Rambo Is My Hero! He Is The Greatest Man To Ever Live!
I Want To Make Love To Him! I Dont Think That Would Even Be Gay.
I Want Him To Hold Me, And Teach Me His Ways.
    I Want To Kill.
I Want To See Rambo As President.

But... Guess I'll Just Settle For Rambo 5!
    :)
  • ok so a rambo 5 would be sick but let me tell you something making one where u see how he became a hard ... just seems dumb like when they made a begining to dumb and dumber, just leave it as it is, i mean you can keep making them but dont go back.
  • I think they shuold do a Rambo 5 and 6. make 5 the one that he wants to make then the 6 one rambo begins or sompthing like that and make it when he was young and just got drafted into the army. and the training that he went threw and then in vietnam show were he came from and all that but of cource thay would have to find some one younger to play rambo but its got to look like a younger rambo
  • Send him to bagdad or afghanistan to kill some ragheads!!
  • What I have heard about the fifth one was something I would have liked to see done with the fourth, and the fourth really made this make sense which would be to tell us more about the Rambo character.

Rambo is still a very open character off the battlefield.
  • Stallone is the best actor and person in the world he tells it how it is and he doesnt give a grap what the government thinks i love him me and my brother eddie hope one day to be able to meet th one and only stallone bring on rambo 5. and people just wished they looked like him at 61
  • New for Stallone Fans....Rambo 5 Story Finalized about the story and the cast...But this time the brother character Plugged in, Hrithik Roshan from India Doing that Role...I will be posting the details in few days.......
  • making 5th part is great idea i think rambo should be going back to home
and again army should contact him to goto afganistan in search of alquida
and re save afgan people from alquida
  • 1 BIG MISTAKE in John Rambo was he did not use his ORIGINAL knife. And it was not seen at all in the film. At the end when he killed the bad general they should have showed rambo slowly pulling his famous knife out and plugging it in the General. That would have been awesome. Coz that knife actually was Stallone's idea to have it in the other movies.

Lets hope that the knife reappears in the fifth installment. All Rambo movies have been great, plz keep them coming............
  • Rambo is amazing. I think that the 5th Rambo movie should take place in his hometown. In the movie, Rambo should encounter his father and search for Trautman. After finding out that Trautman was dead, he should go back to his father and find that he has a son. Rambo's son, aged 27, will avoid John. So, he tries to track him down. He finds him in Pheonix, Arizona which is fairly close to Rambo's hometown. His son who was named John, after his father, was working at an oil rig. Sadly, he rufuses to speak with his father. Later, when Rambo's son runs away, he gets into trouble with a notorious gang. In rage, Rambo kills the gang members holding his son hostage one-by-one. At the end, Rambo finds himself in a bad situation; Die for his son or let him be killed. Courageously, Rambo frees his son and pulls the pin on a grenade. As his son escapes, the warehouse explodes. Rambo is killed but he is not forgotten. Vietnam veterans that he did not even know attended his funeral.Rambo's father and son watch as the kasket is lowered into the grave. John Rambo will live on, though he is not with us any more.
  • Rambo 4 was the most amazing movie of the year!!! I can't wait for a 5th one. I think Rambo is one of the most underated heroes. Chuck Norris Has Got NOTHING ON Rambo!!! WhoHAAAAAAAAA!!!
  • Rambo 4 was awesome but I still felt like it didnt quite close the book on the series like Stallones Rocky VI did. Hopefully Rambo V will tie up the other loose ends and bring him back to his old roots like on the first film!
