Halloween Rushed To DVD

Rob Zombie’s Halloween re-imagining has only been in theaters three days, but we’ve already got a date for its release on DVD. Usually rushed DVD release dates are reserved for movies that have tanked theatrically (Stardust for instance), but Halloween tore it up at the box office this weekend to be Hollywood’s clear number one flick. I wonder if this means they were expecting it to flop?

Whatever the reason for the film’s rushed DVD release, Horror-Movies.ca says it will hit shelves on December 18th, just in time for the last-minute Christmas shopping blitz. Because nothing says “Merry Christmas Mom!” like the latest slasher from Rob Zombie. I’m sure baby Jesus would approve.

There’s no information on what sort of a release the film will get or what sort of extras it’ll have, but the rumor is that an alternate ending will be included on the DVD. Regardless of what’s on it or when they release it, the DVD is sure to be a hot seller. Critics have almost universally panned it but everything I’ve seen from fans, including most of their posts in our comments section, has been almost resoundingly positive.
