The Road Gets A New Release Date

First Shutter Island and now The Road? October isn’t sounding like much fun anymore. At least we’ll only have to wait an extra month to see The Road. Slash Film has gotten word that The Road will be released on November 25th instead of October 16th.

After recovering from the bout of disappointment we would be able to shrug it off and accept the new date, but this move could have major consequences for another highly anticipated film, Nine. The Weinstein Company has already slated the musical for a Thanksgiving release. How can the studio release both films on the same day? Could Nine be pushed back as well?

The other films The Road will now be up against are Fantastic Mr. Fox, Ninja Assassin, Old Dogs and the New York/L.A. release of The Princess and the Frog. There's also the possibility of Jason Reitman’s Up in the Air being moved from its December 4th release to late November. It could be a busy holiday.
