Sukiyaki Western Django Will Kick Butt On DVD And Blu-Ray

I can’t help but to get a good laugh out of the thought that the majority of the people looking for this DVD will most likely mispronounce the name. The even bigger laugh came from me writing it down and then asking my dad to pronounce it. But for those of you that have seen this film, it’s hard to forget the name: Sukiyaki Western Django. Come November 11th, you’ll be able go to the store and either make a fool out of yourself or say the title with pride because First Look Studios will release the film on DVD and Blu-Ray.

The red and white clans are in a heated battle for the right to claim the hidden treasure in a barren mountain town. When a lone gunman strays into town, both clans vie for his alliance. Even though this man is plagued with emotional troubles, his incredible shooting skills make both clans desperate for his loyalty. Little do they know, their new marksman has other things on his mind.

Blood, lust, greed and a huge final showdown; this film is packed with action and even a tribute to Spaghetti Westerns. If you choose to pick up the DVD version ($28.98), in addition to the film, you’ll also get deleted scenes, a making of featurette, previews and subtitles. For those of you who’ll go for the Blu-ray version ($34.98), you’ll get to join the celebration of First Look’s first film accompanied by BD Live extras. The BD Live element will allow you access to an exclusive website where you can watch even more special features. And, to top it all off, you’ll also get a digital copy of the film.

The whole samurai and western genre is not typically the type of movie I go for, but the holidays are right around the corner, and I’m thinking this one could make the gift list for my dad. And knowing me, if he puts on a movie, I’ll be right there watching it with him.
