Castle Set Accident Sends Actor And Stuntman To The Hospital

Two people were injured on the set of Castle last night, one of whom has since been released from the hospital but is reportedly in a lot of pain. The other, a stuntman, is said to be in serious condition due to a head injury sustained during shooting.

Deadline posted the news, stating that the accident occurred last night during filming of the ABC drama series at the Paramount lot. An unnamed stuntman and actress Karen David fell out of a moving van when a door wouldn't shut, according to talent manager William Blaylock. David spent hours in the emergency room after the accident but has since been released and is said to be in serious pain and wearing a neck brace. The stuntman suffered what sounds like a serious head injury and is still in the hospital in serious condition.

News of David's casting in the series was posted just a few days ago. At that time, it was reported that according to what David posted on her Facebook page, she was playing the role of Sara, a Columbia University sophomore. David's credits include Strike Back, Touch and Jack Ryan.

It sounds like the accident was pretty severe, though it's somewhat of a relief to hear that David has been sent home, though unfortunate to hear that she's in a lot of pain. Hopefully she'll have a full and swift recovery. As for the injured stuntman, he's in our thoughts and hopefully he'll recover from the ordeal as well. We'll post an update if there's anymore news on his health status.
