Spartacus: Vengeance is gearing up for an action-packed Blu-ray release next week. The set, which drops on September 11, will feature a slew of extras from bloopers to behind-the scenes looks at costumes and even a day of shooting scenes. To get us stoked for the upcoming release, Anchor Bay Entertainment and Starz are giving fans a bit of a sneak peek at one very special bonus feature available with the set.
Aptly titled “Making of—Costumes” the special feature follows costume designer Barbara Darragh as she runs through the different types of outfits and designs she and her team create for each of the characters on the show. She’s quite cute in her enthusiasm, even for the “crazy, sleazy body adornments” she gets to create for the brothel scenes on the show. Viva Bianca, the actress who plays Ilithyia, also has a few things to say about the costuming, makeup, and hair process the team spends hours perfecting for her each day she is in character. If that weren’t enough, most of the women on the show are dealing with corsets for hours at a time.

Spartacus: Vengeance had the unique challenge of introducing a new actor as Spartacus and coming back from having done a prequel season the year before. It all worked out, thankfully, and the Spartacus franchise seems to be going strong. In fact, the newest season of the hit subscription cable series, Spartacus: War of the Damned, is already gearing up. We still have a while to wait for the upcoming season to air, and the Blu-ray of Spartacus: Vengeance could be just the ticket to tide us over.
