UPDATED: New After Earth Photo Shows Jaden Smith On The Move, New Poster Revealed

With the June release of Columbia Pictures' sci-fi adventure film After Earth approaching, we should probably anticipate seeing a bit more from the film on the promotion front in the coming months. This week, that includes a new trailer, which is set to arrive tomorrow. In anticipation of Thursday's new trailer, some new stills from the film have made their way online, showing us stars Will and Jaden Smith.

Written by Gary Whitta and M. Night Shyamalan, with Shyamalan at the helm, After Earth is set a thousand years after humanity was forced to abandon Earth. When Jaden Smith's Kitai Raige and his father Cypher (Will Smith) crash-land on Earth, the younger of the two must face the evolved animal species, uncharted terrain and "an unstoppable alien creature" in his efforts to find a way to get himself and his injured father off the planet.

Two photos have been posted on the After Earth Facebook page, reminding us that the trailer is coming. This first one shows Kitai Raige on the run…

And this one shows us Cypher standing ahead of some other soldiers in a desert-like area.

He's holding a weapon that's either similar to his son's cutlass (the bo-staff-like weapon he carries), or it's the same weapon. But since the Cutlass is said to be a Ranger's greatest weapon, it seems likely that Cypher has his own. Perhaps we'll have a better idea of how the above scene fits into the story when the trailer arrives tomorrow.

After Earth arrives in theaters June 7. More information, photos and the previously released trailer can be found in our Blend Film Database.
